The young people from Achim did not only see this much-frequented and famous mile in St. Pauli on a Saturday in November 2016, but a whole-day exploration tour through Hamburg. The almost thirty-strong group comprises young people between the ages of 11 and 18 from Achim and young people from all over the world with curses. They met sponsorships a few weeks ago and would like to get to know each other better by means of joint activities outside the school and spend free time together.
It all started with the "Welcome Culture at Schools" workshop at the Cato Bontjes van Beek Gymnasium (Cato) in the middle of August, which our school had won and which was carried out by trainers of the initiative "Neues Lernen" - as the young people decided to organize sponsorship. The trainers and trainers networked them with supporters - and the foundation education from Berlin became an ideal partner, as it sponsored activities to strengthen the co-existence within the framework of sponsorships between pupils and pupils with and without a crippling experience ,

After the initiation of 14 tandems, the students, who are composed of almost all secondary schools and the language class of the Cato, have now organized and carried out their first big tour - and had a lot of fun with each other. "I liked the port best, it looks so different from my home," Duha enthuses from Syria. Leonie from Bierden, on the other hand, found the walk through the old Elbtunnel the coolest. The dungeon was also on the agenda for the most nervous group. "It was the highlight for Sufyan from Sudan," that we were all together and yet could independently decide which group we wanted to look at for a long time. "
We want to do something like that again, the young people summarize with their organizer Ulrike Kompch on the return journey already the next trip to the medieval market to Bremen. At least a part of them, because after all the interesting impressions the other sleeps with a catchy head in his head: "On the Reeperbahn, at night at half past ..."
